Lots of Sports Happening in Team Kererū

Last week the year 5 & 6 Team Kererū learners had their first game of Netball.  It was great to have so many of our whanaū come and support us.   We have been training over the last two weeks at 7:30 in the morning with coach Kodi.  Our training paid off and we won 8 – 2.

We also started training for the upcoming league tournament.  Coach Kevin and Shane came in and we had a game of touch.

These games are a great way for us to show our Glen Taylor School Values, F.I.R.E (Fun, Integrity, Respect & Excellence).  We are also learning sportsmanship, participation, and collaboration.

What sports are your classes playing?

Do you have any tips on the types of drills we can do for netball and league?  If so please share in the comments.

Our Walk Up Mt Taurere

On Thursday Team Kererū walked up Mt Taurere.   We had so much fun.  We took some time to enjoy the view and sketch what we could see.  We then used boxes to slide down the side of the mountain, trying our best to avoid all the cow poop!

My favourite part of the day was seeing all the smiles and laughter as the Team Kererű learners tried to slide down the hills.  Have a look through the photos and let me know what was your favourite part of our trip to Mt Taurere.  Share in the comments below.
